Responsible for implementation of hospital quality and safety program, completion of annual goals, external data reporting including core measures, data collection and analysis. Leading or facilitating performance improvement teams, assuring data integrity of all databases, designing and conducting internal focused studies, leader education specific to performance improvement methods/tools. Other responsibilities include assuring regulatory compliance, infection control, medical staff peer review functions including meeting preparation. Other functions include internal data reporting, board reports, and serving as a resource to nursing leaders in development of change strategies, tools and documentation solutions.
The Employee Health Program consists of effective prevention and control activities that are specific to the healthcare worker populations served (adolescent, adult, geriatric). The Employee Health Nurse serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient and healthcare worker care. Possesses organizational skills and is able to make clinical judgments independently. The employee conducts Initial and annual tuberculosis skin testing and respiratory protection programs on applicable staff based on current recommendations and regulations. Manages the medical components of new employees and Fitness for Duty after an infectious illness. Maintains confidential exchange of information between worker and Employee Health Nurse. As need identified, referral to healthcare provider is made.
