We continue to grow and expand our services to meet the demands of the community for inpatient psychiatric beds.
This position works Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8 am to 8 pm at our Children's Campus.
Review medical and clinical referral information for appropriateness of admission. Assess patients through a systematic process of interacting with patient, the patient's significant others, and the appropriate health care providers. When requested, collect and analyze data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and anticipated discharge planning needs. Participate in Emergency Services emergency codes necessary to the department's safe operation. Completes nursing assessment for admitted patients; and when possible, escorts patients to the floor.
AS TIME PERMITS :
Responds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health care or information about Holly Hill Hospital services. Conduct the Initial Comprehensive Assessment utilizing appropriate forms and in a timely manner. Document all calls on TRIMS forms and enter data into HMS. Administer medication as ordered and monitor for side effects, as needed.
SCHEDULE: Due to the 24/7 environment of the Admissions Department, full-time schedules are subject to change occasionally to meet the needs of patient admissions and referrals.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
One year inpatient med/surg experience preferred.
Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License
Current CPR Certification through the American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider Level
CPI Certification preferred
Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation
