The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP) in Omaha, NE is seeking an Assistant Program Director (APD) for its new Masters in Genetic Counseling program. This position is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-leading appointment that will include clinical practice in association with the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI).
The APD will collaborate with the Program Director in planning, developing implementing and assessing the overall program. The APD will assume oversight responsibilities for clinical education and research components of the program.
The APD will devote 50% of their time to clinical practice, in association with the MMI. This will include providing education to residents, medical, graduate and nursing students and others, as well as providing direct patient services.
The new Genetic Counseling program will join 12 other health professions education programs in the CAHP, which is one of six health professions colleges at UNMC
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling be certified by either the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics and have at least three years of experience in genetic counseling with experience in clinical supervision, teaching and administration.
