Providence is calling a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA .
We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting to provide analytical, reporting, and project support for Financial Reporting areas of accountability. This position will also be responsible for developing management level reports in response to ad-hoc and recurring data requests. They will also be responsible with maintenance and updates of Financial Reporting System (Oracle Hyperion Financial Management). Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission and philosophy.
In this position you will :
Support monthly consolidation by performing the monthly analytical review of financial statements and statistics for accuracy and reasonableness, preparing and processing close journal entries, reviewing automatic eliminations, and performing manual eliminations.
Responsible for Hyperion (consolidating financial reporting application) maintenance such as entity and account hierarchies and logic changes.
Responsible for developing, creating, and updating financial reports which would include the use of Hyperion Reporting program and ad-hoc reporting tools (such as Analyst/Retrieve or Smart View).
Participate in projects designed to improve financial reporting, including identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing recommendations for consideration by management, and implementation of approved recommendations as assigned.
Assist in the implementation of changes resulting from standardization or process improvement initiatives, including providing technical accounting expertise.
Assist in the automation of manual tasks to increase efficiencies.
Develop, maintain, and distribute financial reports and presentations in response to recurring and ad-hoc data requests. Reporting is distributed to a diverse audience, including management and executive level reporting to functional areas outside of finance.
Manage internal & external data requests, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting. Functions as the Hyperion query and reporting specialist to support all data requests.
Responsible for updates to the chart of accounts and chart definitions.
Acquire beginning-to-end knowledge of financial data loaded into Hyperion and use this working knowledge to assist customers with data needs.
Use various software applications, such Microsoft Office applications to assemble, manipulate and format data into recurring and ad-hoc reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
The position requires a minimum of four years of previous accounting and finance.
Extensive experience with Windows-based software such as Microsoft Office, Access or similar databases, word processing, desktop publishing, and statistical and graphing applications is required
Proven ability to use business knowledge and key working relationships to meet outcomes
Proven ability to produce high quality, timely, and accurate results
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of trends and developments in healthcare organizations, functions and processes
Strong, focused written communication responsive to the needs of the customers
Highly organized, thorough and detail oriented
A practical common sense approach to creating tools which fit the unique needs of the customers and the circumstances
Self-starting and independent in managing multiple projects and accountabilities
Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, external regulatory bodies, and consultants in a credible and professional manner
Solid understanding of pace, complexity and challenges of providing corporate support services for a multi-state organization
Enjoyment of variety, fast pace, and flexible assignments to meet ongoing business needs
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Prefer experience in healthcare operations for an understanding of the nature of the work provided by the customers of system support services.
Prefer experience with Lawson accounting and Oracle Hyperion applications
