The professionals we select will perform and coordinate care to achieve our mission of providing excellent patient care and our vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice. Committed to patient advocacy and innovation within a climate of trust and collaboration, these individuals will identify alterations in patient health, assess patient response, and implement interventions for optimal outcomes. Supervising and directing the care of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel, they will assign/delegate care to other members of the health team, and coordinate care among other professional disciplines.
Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
BSN within three years of hire
Professional nursing board certification in area of specialty within two years of specialty experience at UF Health Shands or certification eligibility date

These compassionate professionals will assist the attending physician in the care and management of patients on inpatient units within the hospital, including patient rounds, and contributing to decisions regarding daily care. These individuals will write orders, interact with consultants and facilitate/coordinate the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. Additional responsibilities include making frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients and care, and seeing patients in the clinic environment.
Graduation from an accredited training program
Current licensure in the state of Florida
Ability to meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a Nurse Practitioner within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network

Graduation from an accredited CRNA training program certified in the specialty of nurse anesthesia
