The Cancer Registrar is trained and knowdledgeable in all aspects of oncology data collection and case abstracting in accordance with the ACoS Commission on Cancer, the National Cancer Data Base and the PA Cancer Registry. This position will ensure accurate and timely collection of cancer patient data that allow for evaluation of patient outcomes and idientfication of opportunities for improvement. Lifetime follow-up of patients is maintained to evaluate outcomes of cancer care. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Case abstracting according to ACoS Data Standards
Data Entry into Cancer Registry Database Files- suspense, case abstracting
Data reporting to Pennsylvania Cancer Registry
Coordinating and participation in Cancer Conference
Certified Tumor Registar (Required)
One year experience as a CTR (preferred)
Participation in ACOS CoC surveys (preferred)
