Assist the manager in the supervision and implementation of all tasks related to the operation, repair and maintenance of all machinery equipment and mechanical treatment programs in the Power Plant and hospital complex. No Patient Health Information access required.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: ï¿½ Inspect, operate, and maintain centrifugal units. ï¿½ Provide oversight, and assistance to other stationary engineers in repairing, installing and maintaining various HVAC systems. ï¿½ Interface with vendors and assist them in performing their work at the facility ï¿½ Provide training to other Stationary engineers in DDC controls, HVAC/R components and daily operation of those components ï¿½ Assist co-workers in obtaining HVAC related professional licenses if needed ï¿½ Take daily readings and adjust unit to maintain proper water temperature. ï¿½ Repair and replace controls for chiller units. ï¿½ Install refrigerant and inspect for leaks to system. ï¿½ Maintain all records for regulatory agencies (SCAQMD). ï¿½ Inspection, operation, maintenance of boilers and related systems including feed water system and pumping components. ï¿½ Makes required adjustments to boiler controls. ï¿½ Repair and maintain controls for boilers. ï¿½ Keep required logs for management and regulatory agencies. ï¿½ Maintain chemical balance for make up water as well as condenser water for cooling towers. ï¿½ Repair and replace motors and controls for chilled and hot water systems. ï¿½ Monitor, inspect, and maintain medical air/gas system, fire, and emergency generators ï¿½ Keep logs of daily use of air and gas systems. ï¿½ Take reading and keep log of usage of diesel fuel in fuel oil tanks for regulatory agencies ï¿½ Make repairs to Plant air, vacuum, and medical systems. ï¿½ Monitor computerized fire system and cooling and heating systems. ï¿½ Check all fluid levels in emergency generators. ï¿½ Maintain proper paperwork on generator testing and emergency operations. ï¿½ Check all batteries, hoses, and connections for wear and repair/replace as necessary. ï¿½ Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. ï¿½ Other duties as assigned
ï¿½ High School Diploma or GED ï¿½ Proven proficiency as a stationary engineer or related trade for 5 years or more ï¿½ Must have or obtain within 1 year of employment ï¿½ 500 HP L.A. Steam License ï¿½ Carrier centrifugal fundamentals schooling level I ï¿½ Carrier centrifugal fundamentals schooling level II ï¿½ Carrier operating and maintenance training courses
