M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Device RN at the M Health Fairview Heart Caree Clinic located at St. Joe's Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Summary: The Device RN provides Device Practitioner service to all Heart Clinic device patients such as: Reprogramming, Post-op checks, Troubleshooting, Turning devices on and off prior to procedures and provides pre and post device implant education to patient and family.
This a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Performs clinical and technical assessment of patients with permanent pacemakers and implantable cardio defibrillators.
Acts as clinical liaison with vendors regarding new technology and education updates.
Acts as HealthEast Heart Clinic point person for research related to implantable devices.
Coordinates care with physicians. Directs, coordinates and acts as a liaison for other health care personnel.
Communicates accurately and effectively with patient/family and healthcare members regarding plan of care, interventions, and patient information.
Demonstrates cohesiveness and promotion of the HealthEast Heart Clinic.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Biology or other related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Credentials: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association Registered Nurse MN (RN) Licensure - MN Board of Nursing
5 years of electrophysiology experience including device experience from a device manufacturer or clinic or 5 years critical care nursing experience and some Electrophysiology, device experience required.
