JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of New Business Finance is a highly visible position that develops robust business cases in support of critical corporate initiative execution and assists with corporate development activities including acquisitions (M&A). Individual will possesses market research skills and the ability to quickly understand and reflect competitor dynamics on business case construction and risk assessments. Utilizes critical thinking and communication skills to influence operational leaders and help them view opportunities from the strongest perspective to successfully enable viable and actionable business cases. Responsibilities include but not limited to creating proforma and cash flow models that will highlight the economics of a corporate initiative, new logo pursuits or M&A activity. Will interact and play the lead role with multiple levels of operation leaders in the development of sophisticated economic models that highlight risks and opportunities. Must be comfortable presenting economic models and addressing questions from senior leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the new business development team environment as the business leader to build driver based financial models that clearly illuminate transaction impacts on the enterprise.
- Leads well coordinated due diligence efforts with respect to M&A and new business pursuits.
- Understand operational delivery plans and turn those plans into multi-year financial projections.
- Provide counsel to operational leaders by applying extensive business experience and knowledge.
- Understand the interdependencies and business drivers within and between operational groups and business functions.
- Create detailed spreadsheet models for opportunities showing multi-year financial projections on both a GAAP and cash flow basis.
- Prepares documentation, recommendations, and presentations for review and approval by Conifer Senior Management.
- Be able to explain financial concepts such as IRR, ROI, payback period, NPV, margin hurdles to operational leaders.
- Develop ad hoc tools / models where necessary to assist operational leaders in the execution of business plans.
- Understand and lead the development of customer value propositions.
- Serve as a trusted strategic partner and resource to leaders during and after business case approval to monitor and assist with realization of the business case

- Highly motivated, highly organized self-starter to support multiple business cases and new deals simultaneously while meeting expectations / timelines of senior leaders with minimal supervision.
- Possesses a strong business background / acumen. Applies extensive business experience to the development of business cases, new business pursuits and M&A activities. Drives and leads operational leaders to view business through a robust, comprehensive lens.
- Strong analytical skills. Possesses an ability to discern what is relevant and critical or not to the development of multi-year financial models.
- Highly inquisitive nature. Possesses a continuous learning and intellectually curious mentality. Does not take information provided by others at face value but logically and reasonably validates inputs to strengthen strategic rationales and business opportunities.
- Authentic, collaborative spirit. Leverages a fierce desire to understand and manage team motivations to develop strong relationships, find common ground, create pathways for mutual benefit and pursue unity in execution of opportunities.

- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership
- Advanced skills in MS Office. Expert knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor�s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 7 years progressive business experience.

- Able to deal with the ebbs and flows associated with a new business environment. Some weeks my require a great amount of extra time to support of new business pursuits while other weeks will have little in the way of deal flow. It is during this down time that it is critical to enhance tools and processes to make future deals run more smoothly or allow one to carry a greater workload.
