Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or the Manager of the Same Day Surgery (SDS), the SDS Nurse is responsible to organize the clinical care of the pre-operative/pre-procedural patient in a competent, compassionate and effective manner. The SDS RN is able to provide high quality individualized patient care in an efficient manner that utilizes excellent time management skills. The SDS RN will demonstrate proficient skills in the performance of his/her duties to meet departmental expectations and the needs of the patient, the patient�s family, the physician, staff and other departments. The SDS RN continuously seeks out opportunities to improve his/her own skills and or improve processes associated with the care of the SDS patient. The SDS RN recognizes the patient is at the center of the care being provided and as such seeks out ways to improve high customer satisfaction in every encounter.

Mandatory

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current California RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS
• One year of experience in a pre-op, short stay or same day surgery unit

Preferred

• BSN degree
