Position Description: The Cardiovascular Laboratory Registered Nurse Level II performs a variety of specialized patient care duties as related to therapeutic/diagnostic procedures performed in the cardiovascular and imaging departments. The nurse is responsible for providing acute patient care in a safe and effective manner regarding admission, impatient transfer and discharge. Additional responsibilities include directing unlicensed staff, patient assessment, planning of care, post-procedure observation, non-invasive procedure interventions, patient/family teaching, and implementation of a treatment plan and physician orders, documentation and evaluation. Nursing care is delivered to a patient population ranging from adolescent through geriatric. Under the direction of the physician, the nurse will coordinate the activities of the team. |
