Nursing Informatics is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge and wisdom in nursing practice. Like to teach? As a new CAC, you will train staff on CPRS and then transition to a be a Cerner educator/expert. Your CAC role will evolve as we learn new ways to support clinical operations while maintaining our old Vista systems. The Deployment Lead role assists by providing logistic support. The Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) is an expert in clinical applications, which includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating informatics solutions and technology activities for clinical staff in accordance with current and evolving VHA, Joint Commission (JC), and community standards. This RN is directly responsible to and accountable to Associate Chief of Staff, Clinical Informatics for independently planning, organizing, and performing all duties. This support is accomplished through the use of information structures, information processes, and information technology. The Informatics RN is responsible for: The RN serves to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and supporting clinical applications Planning, coordinating, implementing and participating in center-wide training programs to ensure competency with clinical applications. Serves as a clinical data analyst to provide organizational data improving planning and decision-making.
