Carl Vinson VAMC in Dublin, Ga is seeking a RN for Sterile Processing Services (Quality Assurance Nurse). The RN Sterile Processing Services (SPS) Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for managing quality initiatives for the SPS. The focus of the individual's performance encompasses a combination of clinical, administrative, educational, and research. The incumbent performs at a level that impacts nursing and program services within the Medical Center. The RN- SPS Quality Assurance Nurse assists in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, and modifying quality management activities and assists at the service level for service wide performance. The incumbent is knowledgeable of various programs to include risk management, patient safety, internal surveys, external survey organizations, and performance measures as they relate to SPS. She/he contributes to department and/or facility policy development, planning, and evaluation that impact the delivery and quality of care provided. She/he collaborates with Quality Management staff to promote quality and facilitate consistency in performance improvement efforts. The RN SPS Quality Assurance Nurse maintains a record on all SPS quality measures, collects data, tracks, and trends quality performance for the SPS Chief. She/he prepares reports and briefs nursing leadership on findings and provides clinical and administrative recommendations relative to quality assessment and improvement functions. The incumbent performs clinical nurse observation rounds on the SPS areas weekly to validate processes and improve practice and the overall quality of care. The RN SPS Quality Assurance Nurse has progressive responsibility for activities related to risk management, patient safety, accreditation and regulatory standards, external reviews, correspondence management, performance measures, standards of care and practice, and environment of care. Incumbent is responsible for working with various Veterans Integrated Service Network(VISN)and/or local data tracking dashboards related to quality metrics and performance measures. The incumbent actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships.
