The University of Minnesota Medical Center represents an integrated academic health care system and is comprised of two hospitals and dozens of adult specialty clinics on both the East and West banks of the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. This position is responsible for assisting the professional nurse in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and / or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, reordering and stocking supplies. The nursing assistant does not work autonomously but under the direction of a professional nurse. He / she may or may not be given a patient care assignment based unit needs and the discretion of the manager / charge nurse.
