Fairview Health Services is searching for enthusiastic RNs looking for a rewarding career in our Pediatric unit located at our Burnsville, Minnesota campus. This is a day/evening position, 8 hour shifts with every other weekend. Benefit eligible.
Fairview Ridges Pediatric staff work on a 16 bed unit that accepts pediatric patients, pediatric outpatients and overflow adult patients.
The types of patient diagnosis include, but not limited to: respiratory illness, hyperbilirubinemia, appendectomies, urinary tract infection, sepsis, gastroenteritis, dehydration. The peds staff also administers infusions for the specialty clinic as well as run the nitrous administration program for all children.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Assess patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
Develop an individualized nursing plan of care.
Implement nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Uses communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
Demonstrate the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
Promote a culture of evidence based practice and participation in unit committee and activities is encouraged.
Stay current with changes in information technology used in the health care setting.
Communicate with and educate patients and families who come from a diverse background.
Active MN RN License.
Current licensure in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare provider certification.
One year experience of RN Acute Care Pediatrics experience.
PEARS or PALS certification obtained as soon as possible upon hire.
NRP certification obtained as soon as possible upon hire.
BSN or BAN
One year clinical experience in an in-patient pediatric setting is preferred.
