This Registered Nurse Manager position is located in the CBOC Service Line and works in both the Calais and Lincoln, ME CBOCs. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week. The Clinic Manager (CM), a registered nurse assigned to a Community Based Outpatient Clinic, is responsible for the direct supervision of Primary Care Patient Aligned Care Team nursing staff, lab staff, and other staff depending on location. As such, the CM engages in leadership activities to recruit, retain, engage, and evaluate staff, improve clinic operations for the benefit of population health management, and promote achievement of clinic, station, VISN, and VA Strategic goals and objectives. The Clinic Manager holds responsibility for daily operations of the clinic including environment of care, regulatory compliance, and care coordination. The incumbent reports to the CBOC Service Chief. The CM may have a matrix relationship with other service line providers and staff at the clinic site. These services may include mental health, home based primary care, clinical pharmacy and specialty services. The CM may also interface with academic institutions for Residency Programs and/or other types of health care learners. Collaboration with other service lines to ensure orientation, training, and direction for their staff in the clinic is an expectation. Feedback is provided as requested for evaluation of other service line personnel. When issues arise that cannot be resolved at the site level, the CM contacts the appropriate Service Line Administrative Team(s) member for direction and/or assistance. The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will recommend the grade and salary for new appointments based on the candidate's education and experience.
