You Will Be Responsible For:
Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Provides care according to scope of practice for an LPN. Conducts physician/nurse rounding and data gathering. Addresses all patient issues throughout shift including physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. Participates in education and discharge planning using established education materials.
Performs documents basic nursing procedures and medication administration
Collaborates with RN and makes appropriate nursing decisions and interventions. Interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition. Recognizes and reports problems.
Collaborates with other healthcare team members in the clinical environment. Utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
Promotes a safe environment. Takes appropriate action in emergency situations, demonstrates awareness and control of hazards which may endanger patients, visitors, and employees, identifies and reports environmental concerns to the leadership team. Ensures adherence to appropriate regulatory standards, AdventHealth policies and standard operating procedures.
Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy and enforces safety regulations. Strictly adheres to all infection control practices
Participates in clinical practice changes, as a result of performance improvement activities and evidence-based research. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Adheres to all policies and standard operating procedures.
Maintains professional competency by participating in continuing education and appropriate learning experiences both internal and external. Attends pertinent conferences.
What You Will Need:
Graduate of an accredited practical school of nursing
Active Florida LPN license required
Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within a patient care unit under the supervision/direction of the Registered Nurse. The Nurse assists with implementation and administration of the nursing process relative to the medical and nursing plan of care. Uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost effective nursing care. This performance is in compliance with established policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, and/or designee
