The role you’ll contribute:
The RN Educator uses the principles of learning, nursing and management to coordinate and deliver quality, age specific care and/or teaching to patients, family members and/or hospital staff. The RN Educator is familiar with regulatory requirements for education and orientation to the healthcare facility then assures these requirements are met.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Directs and implements specific teaching, taking into consideration the learner’s cultural diversity, age, and learning needs.
- Uses evidence-based information to provide patient, family and staff education. Uses American Heart Association Standards for BCLS, ACLS, and PALS. Provides other educational material as requested by staff/physicians.
- Collaborates with Department Directors on educational needs of hospital staff.
- Serves as resource for new personnel and staff.
- Demonstrates recognition of emergency codes and consistently implements appropriate emergency procedures, as necessary.
- Provides general and nursing orientation to appropriate personnel.
- Organizes, delivers and evaluates a preceptor program for nursing personnel.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred
- Current GA RN license
- One to two years of clinical experience in an acute care setting required
- Minimum of one year in nursing education experience preferred
- BLS required
- BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor preferred
